Bank of AmeriBank, which was founded in 1992 and was a subsidiary of the Bank of New York Mellon, is set to open its first online banking center in Sandy Spring, Virginia, where the nation’s biggest bank has its headquarters.
Bank of Americhank, based in New York, said it has agreed to open the facility, which will offer its customers a wide range of financial services.
The bank said it will use the facility to provide digital payments and online banking services.
Bank Ameri, based near downtown Washington, D.C., will operate the center and also have access to the banks’ digital-payment and online-banking products.
The company said it plans to start accepting deposits for customers who are eligible for the bank’s digital-credit-card program, which is the only one of its kind in the country.
It said it also plans to offer its credit-card and online payments services to customers who have access and are able to pay by check.
Bank Bank will offer online-payment services to eligible customers in New Jersey, Delaware and Rhode Island, as well as online-credit cards, it said.
The service will be available to consumers in New Brunswick, New Hampshire and New York.
